Will GTA 6 have cheat codes?

Rockstar hasn’t confirmed cheats for GTA 6 yet. But cheats have been part of every mainline Grand Theft Auto for almost 30 years, so the odds are good. Here’s what history says, and how we’ll handle it on November 19.

Cheats in every GTA

Game	Year	Cheats?	How you entered them
GTA 1 / GTA 2	1997–99	✔	Player name
GTA 3	2001	✔	Button combos
Vice City	2002	✔	Button combos
San Andreas	2004	✔	Button combos
GTA 4	2008	✔	In-game phone numbers
GTA 5	2013	✔	Buttons, phone numbers, PC console
GTA 6	2026	?	Not announced

The Red Dead clue

Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) is Rockstar’s most recent big open world. It kept cheats, but changed how you got them: you found phrases in newspapers and the world, then typed them in a menu. Some only worked after you’d unlocked them in the story.

So GTA 6 cheats could be unlockables you discover, not just codes you look up. Since GTA 6 has a phone, phone-number cheats like GTA 4 and 5 are also likely.

What probably stays the same

• Story mode only. Cheats have never worked in GTA Online.
• Trophies and achievements off. GTA 5 disables them while cheats are active.
• No saving with cheats on (or a warning when you do).
• Classics come back: invincibility, max health and armor, weapons, wanted level up or down, spawn vehicles, weather, slow motion.

Our launch-day plan

1. The moment GTA 6 unlocks, we play and test every code on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
2. Each confirmed cheat goes live on the GTA 6 cheats page with its button combo, phone number and effect.
3. Rumored codes stay off the site until we’ve seen them work.

Until then, the full list for the last game is here: all GTA 5 cheats.
