The Leonida map, region by region
GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar's take on Florida. Here are the six regions revealed so far — from Vice City to Mount Kalaga — and what each one is like.
Updated · Published
GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, a fictional state modeled on Florida. It’s the first time the series has left its usual cities to build a whole state around one of them. Rockstar has named six areas so far.
Want to explore it visually? Our companion site vicesixmap.com pins every region and landmark on one zoomable map.
Vice City
The neon-and-pastel metropolis the series made famous in 2002, rebuilt for today. Expect beaches, high-rises, nightclubs, yachts and plenty of social-media chaos — the trailers lean hard on viral-video culture. Vice City is Rockstar’s take on Miami and the heart of the map.
Leonida Keys
A chain of small islands trailing off the southern tip of the state, inspired by the Florida Keys. Boats, bridges, bars and smuggling routes. Jason’s story begins down here.
Grassrivers
Huge wetlands full of airboats, alligators and very little law. Grassrivers is Leonida’s version of the Everglades and looks built for chases and hideouts.
Port Gellhorn
A faded port town on the Gulf side of the state. Rockstar describes it as a place that’s seen better days — think motels, strip malls and a lot of people with nothing to lose.
Ambrosia
Leonida’s industrial heartland, built around a sugar refinery. Rural, hot and home to biker gangs. It’s the kind of small-town setting Rockstar used for Sandy Shores in GTA 5.
Mount Kalaga National Park
The wild north: forests, trails, rivers and hunting grounds. Expect off-roading, outdoor activities and the series’ most natural scenery yet.
What we still don’t know
- Exact size. No official number yet.
- Interiors. The trailers show many enterable places, but nobody knows the final count.
- Unlock order. In GTA 5 the whole map was open early; Rockstar hasn’t said how GTA 6 handles it.
We’ll replace every “unknown” here with facts as soon as the game is out, and add collectible maps for each region.
