Every GTA 6 trailer, explained
A clear rundown of GTA 6's official trailers: release dates, songs, and the biggest things each one revealed about Leonida.

Rockstar has kept GTA 6 marketing tight. Here’s what each official trailer showed.
Trailer 1 — December 2023
Rockstar planned it for December 5, 2023, but posted it a day early after it leaked online. It became one of the most-watched video game reveals ever, breaking YouTube’s 24-hour record for a non-music video.
Song: “Love Is a Long Road” — Tom Petty
What it showed:
- Lucia in prison, then on a crime spree with a partner
- Vice City beaches, nightclubs and highways
- A social-media-obsessed Leonida: viral clips, livestreams, Florida-style news
- Swamps, airboats, alligators and the Keys
- The release window: 2025 (since moved twice)
Trailer 2 — May 2025
Released on May 6, 2025, just days after the first delay. Rockstar said it was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5.
Song: “Hot Together” — The Pointer Sisters
What it showed:
- Jason Duval as the second lead, plus his backstory
- The new supporting cast, from Boobie Ike to the Real Dimez
- A much closer look at Lucia and Jason’s relationship
- Named regions of Leonida beyond Vice City
Alongside it, Rockstar updated its website with dozens of screenshots and character profiles — see Who’s who in GTA 6.
Extended Look — August 2026
The third video was billed as an Extended Look rather than Trailer 3. It premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, then went up on YouTube and rockstargames.com the same evening. Full story here.
What to watch for next
Rockstar often releases a launch trailer in the final days before release. If one drops, we’ll add it here.
